Simpleworks is an innovative, wireless networking camera startup based in the US. The idea for our company came about when a beloved, aging relative needed to be “looked after”. The available solutions on the market were intrusive, expensive, and complex to operate and manage; and most did not meet the performance objectives of range in doors. Then we started working with 802.15.4, and found that this low-power wireless networking protocol has some real talents that could be leveraged for a wireless camera network. It would be expandable easily with additional sensors to 64,000 nodes. Very cool. But it had to be easy to install and easy enough for “Soccer Mom’s” to operate, and easy enough to share images with relatives in a secure way, perhaps taking advantage of Social Networking sites such as Twitter, Picasaweb, or FLICKR. So here we are with Scout-Cam. We hope you like it as much as we do.
